New foreign worker system: Home Ministry gives views after being brought to cabinet

The Home Ministry (KDN) will present its views on the proposed use of a new foreign worker management system, known as the Universal Recruitment Advanced Platform (Turap), when it is brought to a cabinet meeting.

Its Minister, Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, said his party had not made a decision yet and would only provide an official response in the forum.

"When the matter is brought to the cabinet meeting, the Ministry of Home Affairs will provide its views at that time," he said.

Saifuddin said this in a press conference after the signing ceremony for the procurement of a second Multi-Purpose Mission Ship (MPMS) for the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in Putrajaya, today.

Saifuddin was commenting on a question about whether the Home Ministry agreed to the use of the Turap system, following the government's plan to replace the Integrated Foreign Worker Management System (FWCMS) with the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe).
